Yes you eat them whole. You do need to prepare them as there are a few small parts you remove. My favorite way to serve them is to lightly bread them (panko breadcrumbs are best), and saute.

Yep you eat them whole but who you buy them from they should clean them out.They shell is so soft.they taste like crab.
