Freezing Hot Dogs?!

Question:

Freezing Hot Dogs?

How long can you freeze hot dogs and still have them be good. A friend of mine has had hot dogs in a freezer since November and wants to cook them this weekend.

Answers:
In the original package, they can safely be frozen for 1 year.

my mommy say at least a year so the one from november should still be good

Actually, it depends on what size they are. Are they Franks? Weiners? Bun-length? In fact, the one-year mark can be dangerous to follow, since some only last 9 months or so. Generally, the longer and thinner they are, the less time they should be frozen. Also, lower brands use different meats, which can't withstand cold temps for long either. I'd say any large-brand name, regular hot-dog, regular length, (or shorter or plumper, such as franks) would be fine for a year.

NOTE: Plumping hot dogs only have a freezer-life of 10 months.

stop being cheap and go buy some fresh ones !!!!
