Is it a "myth" that earthworms are ground and put in our food?!

Question:

Is it a "myth" that earthworms are ground and put in our food?

For protein.

If not, what would the technical label read so I can see if it's in anything I bought.

Answers:
It is a myth, it is against the law to put anything like that in food.
Phylum Annelida

Yes, it is an urban legend.

they are not in any food, unless by accident.

Most likely it is just a myth.

Yes, it is not true. Funny fact is that earth worm [meat] is actually more expensive then your average ground beef, so it would be wasting money for the fast food chains.

Yes. But it has probably happened at some point. Maybe not an earthworm, but something.

It's not like eating an earthworm would hurt you. I don't think it's true though.

YES IT IS TRUE CAUSE I HAD A WORM COOKIE WEN I WAS lovin it

If you have ever eaten applesauce then you have probably eaten ground up earthworms. The government does make farmers inspect each apple before they grind them up for applesauce.

Do you really want to know? lol...unfortunately yes...and sorry, its not a myth.some bugs do end up in the grinder when they grind up certain foods like beef and even those fig cookies people love.but it is not done on purpose.certain company's are aloud to have a certain percentage of insect in there product because it cant be helped.if you were running a fig company and 1 worm crawled into a batch of 200 pounds of the figs, would you throw the whole 200 pound batch away? well they wouldn't because it would cost them alot of money.so they are aloud to have a certain percentage and no more.but don't panic.it sounds gross but it wont kill you :)

YES!!!!!!! do you realize what kind of trouble the company's would get into for doing that
