Substitute Applesauce for Sugar ??!

Question:

Substitute Applesauce for Sugar ??

On one of the episode of The Biggest Loser, one of the trainers has said that use applesauce instead of sugar.

Just curious if it is true.

Answers:
you can use applesauce as a substitute for vegetable oil in recipes like cookies and muffins. the texture is different but i have found them to be just as moist.
you can also use applesauce as a substiture for butter in quickbread recipes. some people also use mashed banana or crushed pineapple similarly.
i have never tried it in lieu of sugar, though.

You can use that as a substituion in cookies, cakes, and other sweets, and it works pretty well!

Most canned applesauce has a lot of added sugar. The only benefit to the substitution is you get some more vitamins and fiber but I don't think the carb count goes down.

Yes you can i do my son can not have a lot of sugar applesauce has some natural sugar (only the ones with out added sugar) that the body can breakdown easier and will not raise bloodsugar as fast it is kind of like honey witch you can also use sometimes

in most things you bake, you can substitute applesauce for sugar. you can also use a really ripe banana.
