Food that doesnt need to be fridged?!

Question:

Food that doesnt need to be fridged?

My fridge is broken and I have some condaments. Mainly I need to know if dejon mustard can be left out and for how long. Ketchup and yellow mustard also.

Answers:
Once they've been opened, they should be refrigerated. If they stay warm out for more than a few hours, pitch them.

The point of refrigerating these food items is to keep random bacteria that may have landed in them from colonizing. Most bacteria are inhibited by cold temperatures. At the very least, they're slowed down a great deal.

Once the food warms up, the bacteria flourish and your risk of becoming ill after eating the stuff goes way up.

If opened then most of those wet condiments can not be kept unrefridgerated for not longer than 3 days in a cool spot at the absolute most. you have to make sure the lids are nice and tight

do you have a cooler by chance
I used to be a waitress and we
left katsup out but we refridgerated
mustard some have mayo added.

Ketchup and mustard are so full of preservatives that you have nothing to worry about. Restuarants leave those things out all the time.

Good Question, When I was a kid I worked at Burger King and I noticed to my surprise that they didn't refrigerate the catchup and mustard in fact the filling station was hung on the wall by the sink area mayo tartar sauce and salad dressing's all were brought in to the walk in cooler

I think they are fine out. They have lots of preservatives. If you ever go out to eat, their condiments are not refrigerated.
