Sundried tomatoes pls help?!

Question:

Sundried tomatoes pls help?

I am trying usn dried tomatoes, but instead of putting them in the sun to dry, i put it in the grillioso(grill), and setted it on temperature of thaw wash (like 100 degrees) I don't want it to dry too much. is it the correct temperature? And how long does it take me to dry them?

Answers:
lowest possible temperature and for at least a few hours....I use the oven rather than the grill.

That will cook them

they have to be left out in the sun with salt for them to be sun dried tomatoes

You'll have to experiemnt because we've not sure what kind of tomatoes you are using. One hundred sounds maybe too high. You don't want to cook them you want to dry them out.... you will need to salt them as already suggested.

I have an easy way to do sun dried tomatoes- take a cookie sheet and rub it with olive oil, then sprinke garlic salt on it. Wash and hald cherry tomatoes (you can also use plum tomatoes, but cut them into slices) Turn your oven on to 400 degrees. Place the cookie sheet with the tomatoes in the oven, then turn the oven OFF and leave them until the oven cools. I do mine at night just before bed. In the morning I have chewy fresh-tasting tomatoes that are "just right". Try it-you'll love the flavor and this methold is SO easy! (:

I slice mine into quarters and take out some of the pips and place on a oiled baking tray also do peppers same way, sprinkle with seasoning of choice. and place in the middle of oven on a low/medium heat for at least 10 minutes or until dried to your needs, and place into containers filled with olive oil, and keep in dark place.serve as garnish for pizzas, stir fries, or even home made bread. gas mark 3. delicious. or any ideas you may have.
