As bad foods go, they certainly rank pretty darn low. Especially if you don't drown them with sugar and whole milk. Why would they be bad? Try the multi-grain for an even better time! Non sugar cereal in and of itself is certainly a nice snack or meal replacement. It's filling, you get calcium with the milk and if you choose a fiber or whole grain cereal, you're doing pretty darn good.
I wouldn't say they are "good for you", but there are certainly many worse choices one could make. Unsweetened whole grain cereal with low fat milk is a decent part of a breakfast or snack...especially when popular alternatives are candy, chips, etc.
