Are refried beans fried twice?!

Question:

Are refried beans fried twice?

Answers:
Refried beans are stewed, mashed, then reheated! Typically, 'refried' refers to Pinto beans, but according to Wikipedia, black beans count, too.

nope

no you usually let beans simmer until they're soft and then you squish them with spoon/spatula and fry them in a skillet.

Actually they aren't fried at all. The name comes from a poor translation of the original Spanish name.

Not really but cooked twice
soaked - - boiled - - mashed in the fry pan with some Lard or your choice to fry some you can add some spices???
