How long is a frozen steak good for?!

Question:

How long is a frozen steak good for?

It's been in my freezer since Sept 1st of '06. Can it still be thawed out and put on my Foreman grill?

Answers:
Well, it certainly CAN - it shouldn't make you sick so long as it has been frozen. But the quality may leave something to be desired

The mini guide on the inside of my freezer says beef is only good for 7-9 months after freezing.- you should be OK. I'd have it well-done, just to be on the safe side.

As long as it doesn't have any freezer burn or discoloration, its probably ok, but I wouldn't chance it. Maybe you should clean out your freezer more often.

This would depend on the freshness of the meat when frozen the continuous temperature at which your freezer was set,and the packaging method. Below you will find a link to the FDA explaining frozen food safety and a couple other links. If in doubt throw it out,
