What country is praline cookies from?!

Question:

What country is praline cookies from?

Answers:
Deep South, USA

It's from the united states. It's more of a southern thing. Just like pecan cookies are more from texas and georgia it's the same with a praline.

They did take the shortbread cookie part though from countries like sweden, germany and switzerland where shortbread is common.

Pralines were originally created in France, but they were brought over to Louisiana and modified by the French Creoles.

Originally, pralines were made with almonds, but the Creoles substituted the more plentiful pecans for this little delicacy.

IMHO, Brennan's Restaurant makes the best pralines. They call them "PRAW-lines," but we here in Texas call 'em "PRAY-leens." Everyone else calls them delicious.

Bon appetit!

The USA, esp the southern part.

Pecan praline pie - yum!
