I have green tea bags. Is it ok to drink?!

Question:

I have green tea bags. Is it ok to drink?

I have a box of lipton green tea bags and the box has been opened. The expiration date was about a year ago. Is it still safe to drink? Does that mean its not safe to drink or that it won't taste as good, or is it something to get people to throw things away so they will have to buy more? Thanks for any answers.

Answers:
I don't think you will die, but the tea is no longer fresh. Green tea, don't brew longer than 3 minutes due to bitterness, but I'm not sure about the expiration thing, give it a go, why not?

Maybe you'll get lucky and get high.

I am sure it won't taste as good.

i woulndt drink it. lipton green tea can sour which can mess up the stomach system.

meaning, you drink it , and you puke.

it can still used, you would not know the difference, you are not a tea lover or drinker.so just get reafd of them..

Im sure it will be fine. I drink expired tea all the time, the only difference I ever notice is sometimes it is a little less strong.

If it has been totally dry, with no chance of mold, then it won't be unsafe. But dried herbs (of which tea leaves is one) lose their flavor as their aromatic compounds are exposed to air and light - it will probably taste like sawdust.
