How do you open a small bottle of soy sauce?!

Question:

How do you open a small bottle of soy sauce?

It's the one they usually have on tabletops at Japanese restaurants, with the double-sided spout. I've tried using a towel around it to cause friction but it still doesn't budge at all.

Here's a picture of what mine looks like:

Answers:
(1) Take a metal spoon and bang around the rim of the cap.
(2) Run the cap in hot water for a while.
(3) Now try to twist it open.
If it doesn't work, repeat (1) and (2) again.

Personal experience.

Have you tried whacking it on the counter a bit and then doing the towel trick? Usually works for me when mine stick.

use a small ax.

There may be dried soy sauce around the opening causing it to stick. Use a narrow object, place it in between cap and bottle and make a circle. It should open now.
