Meatloaf question?!

Question:

Meatloaf question?

What's better on meatloaf, gravy or ketchup? Just wondering, making it for friends, don't know which to offer or both.

Answers:
I prefer the ketchup, but that's how I grew up eating meatloaf. If I were you I'd offer both since people have different preferences. Kudos for cooking a meal for friends!

Both...Cook it with the ketchup on the top of it then make some gravy from the pan drippings. Soooo many choices soooo little time ;-)

It depends on your taste. I like it either way but from what I have observed it seems to me that most people prefer catsup over gravy. I pour a lot of catsup over the top with a ring of green pepper or 3 strips of bacon. Everyone loves it that way. You can even use tomato sauce or tomato soup.

I top my meatloaf with a mixture of brown sugar and ketchup, just stir the 2 together until slighty sweet or to your taste, then top the meatloaf before baking. It turns into a sweet and tangy topping.

there are a million different ways to make it -- one isn't better than others. if you want a ketchup base meatloaf i suggest going with a tomato relish -- it has veggies mixed into the ketchup -- here is a recipe from foodnetwork --

gravy is better

don't forget mustard

sliced mushrooms with beef both . no ketchup, you can even put sliced mushrooms in the meatloaf . meatloaf sounds great, makes me hungry

Since everyone has a different opinion, I'd serve it with both

both :)

why don't you make a gravy and leave a bottle of ketchup by the side? yum...
