Is it okay to eat the egg white without eating the egg yolk ?(hard boiled)?
my friends kept saying its not good to just eat the egg white as its "unbalanced" without eating the egg yolk.

That's absolutely not true. The egg white when cooked is actually better than the yolk as it contains less fats and cholesterol.

Ugh, I never ate the yolk in my pre-vegan days. Its an embryo. Like a baby chicken would have grown in it, its nasty.

not true. you eat watever part you want . i eat the yolk ,though it mayb a lil hard to swallow. i guess the white part makes it easier but still ,you wont die from eating one without the other.

No rule that states you need to eat the whole egg,they are both there,enjoy the one you like best.Health wise white is better,taste wise yolk is tastier.

I feel that without the egg yolk, it would lower the cholesterol in you. The yolk of one large egg has about 213 mg of cholesterol. Egg Whites contain no cholesterol.
Of course, it doesn't mean you cannot take egg yolks. If you are healthy, it's better for you to limit your dietary cholesterol intake to less than 300 mg a day. If one has cardiovascular disease, diabetes or High LDL cholesterol, it's advisable to limit the dietery cholesterol intake to less than 200mg a day.

You can eat either part or the whole egg, don't see how it matters, it's not like you only eat egg white for the rest of your diet.

The yolk of an egg has the highest concentration of cholestoral. Eating only the white part of the egg is fine, many people do for health reasons.
It's totally fine to eat just the egg white... I do it for breakfast every morning!
All the cholesterol is in the yolk, and practically all the protein is in the white, so you are getting all the aawesome health benefits & no fat or cholesterol by eating only the white of the egg.
when my family & I go out for brunch, I ALWAYS order egg whites, because they're so high in protein & low in calories, with no fat. 1 egg white is 17calories!
don't think you're eating badly by eating only the white... you are making a VERY healthy nutrition choice... feel great about it!!! Good for you!!!
