Wine on a picnic?!

Question:

Wine on a picnic?

Its summer and so a lot of food shows and articles are giving advice and tips for going on a picnic or bbq. They are suggesting wines and reminding people not to forget the corkscrew. I'd love to do this but I'm in Los Angeles and as far as I know you aren't allowed to drink alcohol in a public place like the park or the beach. Am I wrong or where are all these wine drinking picnicers going?

Most state/county parks don't allow alcohol. Just keep it a little hidden and you should be fine.
