I must have left my wok sitting with water in it and now...?!

Question:

I must have left my wok sitting with water in it and now...?

I think it's got rust in the bottom it. It's like orange-y streaks on the bottom. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

Answers:
Use an SOS pad or other steel wool scrubbing device.

when you're done using it wash it then pour some Lime & Rust Remover?, let it sit and that should take care of it.

Use steel wool until it is back to the normal color, place it on heated element, wipe with a vegetable oil and a little salt until it just begins to smoke, remove from heat and wipe out any remaining oil and salt with a paper towel.

all good answers, but I use "bar keepers friend " a mildly abrasive cleaner. add some powder and work into a paste with a cloth or sponge, this will remove most any stain or difficult to remove substance without damaging the surface. Depending on the material of your wok, you might "season" it afterwards as you would cast iron.

Yup...try a little CLR (Calcium Lime Rust) and Water. Use a Soft Cloth, and rinse well with Cold Water. Afterwards, just put a thin film of Vegatable Oil on the surface, and spread it around evenly with Paper Towels. Before use...just wipe off the oil film with a Warm Damp Cloth. Hope this Helps!
