Random hot dog questions!?!
Random hot dog questions!?
Why do they call them corn dogs? Why not fuzzy hot dogs? Just a random though. And how come they’re called pigs in a blanket. Cuz those are hot dogs too. Hmmm. and what's really in hot dogs? and are there different kinds? or are they all the same? and what are your favorite toppings?
Answers:
They're called corn dogs because they are dipped in a corn batter.
In my experience, pigs in a blanket are actually pork sausages and pancakes, not hot dogs.
There are different kinds of hot dogs, including pork, beef, chicken, turkey and soy.
"corn" dogs are wrapped in corn bread, pig's in a blanket...hot dogs come from pig (sometimes),but i'm pretty sure pig in a blanket is not a hot dog. they are made of diffrent body parts left over from the pig...lol just kidding, yes there are other kinds too, i know they have turkey dogs. And my favorite toppings would be chilli and cheese! this is a very random question
They are called corn dogs because they are dipped in cornmeal batter before frying. Fuzzy hot dogs doesn't make sense and just sounds gross. Pigs in a blanket are called that because the little sausages used are made from pork (pig) and are wrapped in a piece of puff pastry that kind of looks like a blanket. There are many different kinds of hot dogs. They can be made from beef, chicken, turkey, pork, or any combination of those meats. I like chili cheese dogs with a little bit of chopped onion.
They are corn dogs because they are dipped in cornmeal. Fuzzy would mean they had mold or cotton candy on them.
Pigs in a blanket because sausages originally were made with primarily pork (pig), and they looked like they were in a blanket. Just a name to appeal to kids.
Some are all beef. Some are pork. Some are pork and chicken (most these days are).
No, they aren't all the same. I am not crazy about hot dogs, but my family eats them from time to time. I am disgusted by the horrendous amount of salt they contain, so I spend a lot of time in the hot-dog section of the store, reading the labels to find the lowest-sodium dogs.
Some have more sweeteners. Some have smoke flavor. Some have shredded cheese. Some are skinny, some fat, some 12' long. (Okay, no laughing now, people!)
My husband is from mexico. This is how we eat our hotdogs mexican style:
Mayo on the bun,
Slice of cheese on the bun
hot dog
refried beans
diced tomatoes
chopped onion
chopped fresh jalapeno
You haven't lived until you have eaten a chili cheese coney from Skyline Chili restaurants.
Otherwise, I just use mustard and onion.
Hotdog are made out of left over pig parts, don't eat them they have eyeballs and bones and ears and hooves...yuck
