Freezing fruit?!

Question:

Freezing fruit?

What fruits can you freeze and when you melt them they stay good and dont get mushy? Berries (blueberries for example)is one i know, but is that the only kind of fruit?

Answers:
Most manufactured of frozen fruit have methods to "Quick freeze" their products, there is a method in which you can do the same at home.
First you need to start with FRESH fruit, place a block of dry ice in a cooler ( do not touch it ) place unwashed fresh fruit on the ice and in minutes it will be frozen solid, allow individual pcs to freeze and then place them in a ziplock freezer bag, they will stay for months and when defrosted will be just as fresh as when picked. The key is do not wash the fruit prior to freezing, this will cause ice crystals that are the culprit for mushy fruit.

You can do that with any fruit. But I have to suggest putting your fruit in the microwave. It tases so good! i know this sounds gross and stupid but don't knowck it till you try it! good luck!

Bannanas freeze great, but I would recommend peeling the bannana and wrapping it in plastic wrap to freeze, then eat it frozen just like an icecream bar... makes a great diet treat for those who are trying to diet and can't kick the icecream habit!

or use them frozen to make smoothies....

I love papaya and lychees.

Frozen grapes are wonderful! My granddaughters have asked for them instead of something sweet. Just make sure that they are sweet and not sour before you freeze them.
