How do I open a soda can that's dented on top?!

Question:

How do I open a soda can that's dented on top?

I received about one dozen soda cans from my office's vending machine guy to hand out to my students - the problem is that they're all dented on top. What's the best way to safely open these? I don't want them to go to waste.

Answers:
Do you have one of those bottle openers with the triangular shaped end? You should be able to gently puncture the top of the can with one of those and pour it out.

Tap the top with your index finger and VERY slowly (and over the sink) open the can. If it sounds fizzy, tap it again. If it's unable to open because it's dented, try using a can opener (just a little cheapy one, not a motorized one)... you'll have jagged edges so don't let the students handle the cans.

Very carefully and over a sink.

Have them get a click pen and have the click pen, the pen part inside the pen and jab it in the round part. It helped me the other day open mine. :)

Take a butter knife, and put the blade over the tab open area, and push hard.It will push the tab in and then you can drink them...
