Can you freeze things like milk and "fresh" juices for use at a later time?!

Question:

Can you freeze things like milk and "fresh" juices for use at a later time?

My goal is to make fewer runs to the store. It is a hastle with "three" kids in tow AND expensive to drive there so many times for things like milk and juice. We have a stand-up freezer and I thought I could freeze a months worth of milk/fresh juice. Is this possible? How will it taste when thawed?

Answers:
Juice, certainly, but why not buy the frozen juice concentrates instead. They are certainly cheaper and don't have additional water added to them so that saves on space.

It is safe to freeze milk but freezing may change the texture of the milk and cause some separation. Stirring well may reduce the texture change and separation enough to use the milk in products like puddings and baked goods.

Tip: If you are freezing milk for your family to drink, try a small amount first and see how they like it. Remember to allow plenty of headspace (1-1 ? inches) for the milk to expand in your freezing container.

Juice tastes okay when thawed, but I have never tried freezing milk. Sorry I cant be of much help!

I used to freeze bottles of milk and then as they thawed out I would shake them and drink it like a slushie. It was really good tasting but if you let it thaw out all the way it would taste sour. So it's probably not a good idea to freeze milk. But as for juice, why not.

I used to work in a hotel and we did this all of the time...I can not tell much difference...However I would not keep it in there more than 2 weeks

i can't say i know how the milk will turn out, but juice freezes really well(very good when still slushy!)

Milk doesn't freeze well cause when you thaw it you'll get all these ice chunks and fat clumps in it, however fruit juice freezes very well. In fact people make popsicles out of frozen fruit juice all the time.

Try frozen juice concentrate. They last long - more can fit in your freezer, and they can be made in a moments notice!! They are cheap as well! As for milk - why not try the freeze dried stuff? Its not terrible. I don't know if you can freeze milk - maybe you could buy a cow....I dunno...
