Box Cake Emergency!!!!!!!!! HELP!?!

Question:

Box Cake Emergency!!!!!!!!! HELP!?

I want ot make cupcakes using the Duncan Hines French vanilla cake mixture. THe box calls for 1 1/3 cups water, 1/3 cup oil, and 3 large eggs. The problem is that i have previously dont the cake as the instructions say with 3 eggs but the cake tastes too eggy. Can i substitute some(1 or 2) of the eggs for something else or am i better off just doing it as the box says?Thank you all in advance!

LOL, I had no idea there was such a thing as a box cake emergency. :) I'd suggest removing the yolk from the third egg, using the white only, and giving that a shot. The yolk is where the eggy taste comes from. Hope your cupcakes are everything you dream of!

Just do not add the third egg if you are using large eggs or use the samller eggs

Use 2 eggs and mix ,if its still to dry add more water , i had the SAME problem. Good Luck....SAVE ME SOME :)

Maybe use two whole eggs and just the white of the 3rd egg?

You can substitute some of the eggs for applesauce, the cake with be dense but very moist.

Use only the whites of the eggs. I have to do this because I am allergic to egg yolks. Or you can use 1 whole egg and 2 whites. You may have to experiment with this to see which way you like best. Good luck!
