Pork is the type of meat, ham is a cut of pork.

They are from different parts and ham is prepared while pork is not. Ham is usually prepared by boiling in mixture (usually brine).

Cut from different parts of the muscle, ham is cured. Bacon is also different.

White meat chicken is not exactly like dark meat either. Nor do organ meats taste like regular muscle meats. Different muscles have different textures and different flavours.

T-bone steaks are different that ribs.

Ham is a cut of meat from the heavy-muscled part of a hog's rear quarter, between hip and hock, usually cured.

Yes they are both pork. There are fresh hams which just means it is the leg that comes right off the pig. It tastes pretty much like any other part of the pig. But once the leg is cured it takes on a different color and taste and becomes "Ham". When people hear the word "ham" they know what to expect. It is no longer just pork, but a pork that has a different texture and taste. But normally you still have to cook the ham when you bring it home from the grocery store. Ham comes from the legs(Front or Back) bacon comes from the belly, and pork chops, pork steak, and pork ribs come from the rest. The hams from the rear legs are the best ones.
