Polenta is a mixture of corn meal and water. The ingredients are combined and they create a sort of mashed potato consistency.Of course, you cake bake it to become firm and/or add it to dishes for more variety. It's my family's potato/pasta substitute most of the time. You can add lots of ingredients to it and it is so good.Polenta is a side dish that is relatively easy to prepare and it is very versatile.
My favorite:A little butter,basil,sundried tomato pieces,and parmesean cheese.YUM.

Hello! I'm italian. Polenta is a tipical italian food. The polenta is formed by a I mix of water, flour of cereals (typically maize for the yellow polenta) or other vegetables and salt, cooked in a copper pot for around 30 minutes. I don't like, but in winter it is excellent to warm up. =) bye bye
