What is the difference between CASTER sugar and regular sugar?!

Question:

What is the difference between CASTER sugar and regular sugar?

I found a box of it at home and was just wondering how different it would be if I put in coffee. I know my mother uses it for cake but it seemed similar enough to regular sugar.

Answers:
it's just finer - so it dissolves more easily into cake batters. use it just the same.

It's just the way that it has been ground up. It's fine to use for whatever you want.

The granules are finer 0.35mm as comapred to regular sugar which is around 0.5mm. Smaller granules ensure a better spread, through out the cake mix.

It will not be any sweeter or any different for that matter to regular sugar.
