Eating mostly cereal?!

Question:

Eating mostly cereal?

i've been eating mostly cereal the past couple of days.
like, post grape nuts & honey bunches of oats.
do you think is bad for me? especially if i basically just eat like mostly grains, & fruits everyday. will i gain weight from the carbs?

Answers:
Yes depending on how much your eating, excess carbs will get converted to fat. That's not to say the protein your diet is lacking. Visit a nutrionist.

Edit* The milk you're using also plays a role, if it's skimmed then less harm is being done ;-)

doubt it

No.

You need more nutrients than what's in cereal.

It is bad for you, because you are not getting the vitamins and protein that you would get from a regular meal. Oats and some cereals are healthy alternatives to a lot of foods, but it is still not healthy for you. You need certain vitamins from vegetables, meats, fruits, and other things. Also, cereal and fruit contains A LOT of sugar, no matter what brand or type you are using. You can even develop diabetes from eating that much sugar, because it throws off your blood sugar. I wish you luck in your struggle to eat healthier (if you may choose to do so)!

Try adding fruit for nutrician and ask your dr if this diet is right for you

Examine the ingredients (and calorie) listing on the box. How nutritious is the cereal (without the milk). Many diets suggest skim milk with cereal - and the weekly menus do not show cereal more than 1-2/week.

Your body will probably tell you when you're missing out on some important nutrition. You will probably start craving salty foods with protein like meat.

Eating just cereal will not cause you to gain weight as long as your total amount of calories is within your daily limit. It doesn't matter if you eat carbs, fats, or proteins; what matters is your caloric intake. However, cereal is low in proteins and your body might not function as well. If you start feeling weak or shaky, try eating some peanut butter or meat.

Variety is the spice of life! Sure, there are a hundred kinds of cereals in the cereal aisle, but you'll probably get bored of this diet very quickly.
