Are Stride gum wrappers really edible?!

Question:

Are Stride gum wrappers really edible?

Many people I know eat the gum with the wrapper still on and they claim its edible. Is it really? Are they safe to eat? If it is edible, what is it made out of? I really don't want to eat the gum with the wrapper still on if it isn't 100% safe. Thanks ahead of time.

Answers:
They are edible if you like to chew on paper. Just like a normal piece of paper, the wrapper will dissolve after a while of chewing. But if you're not a fan of having something hard in your gum while chewing, I wouldn't suggest eating them.

i tried it---

no!

no, unless u like to chew on paper, they will dissolve like paper does, but it makes the gum less flavorful.

Yes, it's made of rice paper. But I prefer not to eat it.

No, they are not. I emailed the people at Stride and asked them, and they told me that it was a myth.
