Is rose a food ?!

Question:

Is rose a food ?

I find roses tasty i wonder is it a food ?

Answers:
Technically, no, I don't think it's considered food -- more of a flavoring, garnish, or a tea when grown properly and cultivated for edible purposes.

Rose hips are rich in vitamin C, and the tea made from them will prevent scurvy. And there are several old-fashioned cake recipes which call for the cake to be garnished with rose petals. Rose water is also used to flavor pastries and other dessert items in many countries.

Techincally it is not a 'food' but it is a flower, and some flowers are edible.

Rose petals are edible but not considered a food.

It is edible and it has herb like qualities. The dried leaves are really good in tea.

I'm rose,,,not a food but mighty tastey

They're kind of pricey to be eaten... I've seen them covered with icing and placed on a cake to be eaten. I would wash them before eating though, you really wouldn't want to eat a bug.

i don't think eating roses will kill you or anything but it would be nice if roses stayed as flowers not foods cause people eat all kinds of stuff these days besides that roses smell good and look pretty make perfect decorations
