Okay to eat sandsich meat after no refridgeration?
I just started a new job where there is no refrigerator for me to keep my lunch in, which until this point contained a sandwich with some sort of lunch/deli meat. Is it all right to make a meat sandwich at 8 am and then eat it unrefrigerated at lunch, which sometimes ends up being 2 pm?
Answers:
Do what I do... freeze a bottled water to use as a cooler. It will take till up to 6 hours to thaw completely, if it's in an insulated lunch container. I usually have one thawed (chilled) and one frozen in my lunch each day.
NEVER use mayo on a sandwich that will be left at room temperature! Be cautious of mustards that contain egg base, as well.

I would say that could be risky, but you can buy a lunch box with an ice pack and that would do you up just fine.
You're pushing it. Definitely no mayo. Get one of those things that you freeze for your lunch bag to keep it cool until lunch.
I wouldn't risk it.Get an insulated lunch bag and keep a reusable ice pack in it.
Well, first of all...eating processed deli meats isn't the best choice of nourishment for the body, but if you bought it fresh, four to six hours out of the fridge isn't going to kill you. Eating this way for a number of years will, however.
Don't take the chance. It is not worth it. You really don't want to be sick for several days because you ate some hot meat.
Do whatever you can to keep your sandwich cool.
i wouldnt eat it.
