Answers:
some weird metallic fumes magnify from cold infect the food and kill you.

it is ok just wait til it cools down a little first...and if they are glass wait til they cool down all the way...

Sure you can. I have taken all kinds of food safty classes and the grandma that made this up thought that it made sence, but science disagrees. I am all for not having to wash tupperware!

No. It's not okay to put pots or pans in the fridge. Not only will the fridge work extra hard to cool the pots, but the food will react with the metal (usually aluminum) and look funny, taste worse, and don't even THINK about slapping the cold pot onto the stove and reheating it!

The pot will warp and the food will taste awful.

That actually sounds like a good idea. I hate having to use tupperware! =D, oh and I suggest waiting for pan to cool, and when reheating, wait for pan to start to get room tempurature so your pan doesnt warp or blow up

i do it all the time and im not dead yet. i havent been away from home long and im still trying to get things like tupperwear and leaving it in the pan is what i use for storage right now. i do it all the time.

Certainly; there is no problem. I do it from time to time. The only gotcha is that they take up a fair amount of space.
