Separating cream from milk?!

Question:

Separating cream from milk?

I have recently bought non-homogenised milk but only like the taste of skimmed. I know if I leave the milk to sit the cream will rise to the top and I can skim it off, but does anyone know of an easier way to do this?

Answers:
When I lived on a farm and the cows were milked the full cream milk was put in large stainless vats or big basins and allowed to stand.Muslin cloth was used to skim the cream off of the top leaving skimmed milk. Why buy different milk to that which you prefer? How much have you got?If it is only one or two cartons then just pour the cream off.If the milk is non homogenised then the cream and milk will separate.Otherwise throw the lot away and buy fresh skimmed milk.

You could try something along the lines of a gravy separator jug available from Lakeland Plastics or similar outlets.
This draws off the non-fatty substances by using a long outlet from the bottom of the jug.

lucky you, pit bull has the best suggestion, why not make butter from the cream or clot the cream or make ice cream if you have enough milk to separate

get someone else to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
