Has chocolate got spiders legs in it.?!

Question:

Has chocolate got spiders legs in it.?

Answers:
Not generally. What you are probably referring to is the FDA's Defect Action Level. The DAL allows for a certain quantity of insect parts in most agricultural products. There is no way to be absolutely, 100% free all defects. Insects are everywhere and some are too small to see with the naked eye. The number of insect pieces in foods is vanishingly small, but they are present to some degree in most foods like vegetables, fruits, and grains. Meats and fish generally are free from them, as are liquids that can be filtered like milk.

They won't hurt you, but this is the real world!

ew that's disgusting I hope not

I don't think so, no

I hope to God it doesn't...

it might have, depends on the factory that made the chocolate. It wont harm you im sure spiders have protein in them just like other insects....

Some food colourings have something called cochineal in it and that is powdered beetle, don't know about chocolate though ?.

I hope not, I'm just finishing a bar.

Some confections do have bugs legs in them, those with the ingredient cochineal which is made form the crushed legs of some kind of red bug.

maybe. peanut butter has mice hairs and turds in it.
still the fda approves it because it's an acceptable liability

ewww

Not unless its chocolate covered spidey legs.

it depends on how many fell in when it was being made you might be lucky

Yes it does. They are obviously not put in there intentionally but they are not filtered out all the time. I saw on a Food Network TV show that you eat about 10 spiders a year in your chocolate. (Usually you can't tell)

The FDA allows a certain amount of crazy things in the food we eat and still pass qualilty check. Some can fruits and vegies have rotten fruits and food in there. So yes some choc. has spider legs and mice hair and other crazy by products but not enough to harm people. Look at it this way the average person eats up to 7 spiders yearly during sleep.

ya and its got bat-wings & beetle-eyes too...

p.s. watever made u to think of such a question?? :-D

yes.

no spiders run too fast to get caught and put in chocolate :P

I hope not, I like chocolate.

I used to tell my children the blackcurrant sweets were poisoned & only mums or dads could eat them

its something that has been rumoured for years,
just like we eat so many spiders in our sleep in a life time,

me i love choc & it does not & will not stop me eating it ,
