Chicago-style pizza?!

Question:

Chicago-style pizza?

Love it or hate it? I have tried to like it but I guess I am just more of a New York style pizza gal. If I was going to give Chicago-style another try, do you have any suggestions? I have had Lou Malnati's and Uno when I was in Chicago and I didn't care for either. We have an Old Chicago here but I heard their pizza isn't that great.

Answers:
Deep dish has not been around as long as a regular thin crust pizza. A real chicago pizza, in my mind, is on a crispy crust with a spicy marinara sauce (that's where other cities go wrong) with fennel heavy Italian sausage, covered with mozzarella and cooked in a super hot oven that you can't duplicate at home, and cut INTO SQUARES.

The best deep dish in Chicago (in my mind) is Pizza Due. The family recently sold Pizza Uno, but they kept Pizza Due, so it's still the authentic deep dish pizza.

Stick with the New York style...It is the best and why fight it...you like it so why go else where

Chicago style pizza at papa murphy's is really good!

chicago style pies are gross ny pizza is the best!!!

I live in Chicago...Lou Malnati's pizza is just OK, Uno is just a chain, theirs isn't good. Try Gino's East and Pats. Chicago has a lot of "whole in the wall" pizza joints with some of the best pizza in America!

well in chicago there's also giordanos and Gino's east or if u want u can go to foodnetwork.com and type in anything related to chicago style pizza

I like both, but my favorite Chicago style is from Giordano's. There's one in Orlando and my family goes there everytime we're there. (Though I don't know if there's one in Chicago.) My husband went to NY in November and I made sure he brought me back some pizza from there. The security almost didn't let him on with the pizza, but he told them that they weren't going to take his pizza and they let him keep it! I have to say that there wasn't anything special about. Just like a regular pizza. My only question on NY pizza is why do you fold it? The pieces are huge. Why not cut it into smaller pieces?
