Is too much fish bad for you?!
Is too much fish bad for you?
Ok, so can you have too much fish? I was recently thinking of jacking in this whole meat business and just eating fish.
How much do you eat, and what type is best?
Answers:
I could eat it every day....
If you don't live close to a fresh fish market your endeavor may become difficult. If you live by a fish market the get to know the mongers and start talking about what is fresh and where it's been fished. Deep sea fish are now known to have mercury (tuna, sword, etc...). Find a reliable fish stall and get to know the product. You'll never go out for fish again because no one will be able to make it as well as you.
Good luck.... and don't forget to eat yourself a good thick T-bone now and then.
What type is best is up to you. I like fresh sardines (fried, raw cooked in lemon juice, baked), tuna, sword, monk, sea bass, John dory, all bivalves (even razor clams) and crustaceans, octopus (little & small), squid, cuttle fish, eel (grilled!!!), mackrel and so forth and so on.
Mercury levels in fish can be problematic.
Actually it really depends on the how u cook it and what type of fish u are eating........Actually eating fish is healty but the way u cook can change it all if u wnat to eat fish everyday be prepared to eat different type of fish and cook it with less oil and etc.....Some fish can cause allergy so make sure to take note on that.,.....maybe reading books on fish might help......but this phrase " too much of anything is always bad"....try to be moderate and good luck
I just got home from a gig fish is the last thing on my mind, I think a steak fajhita pizza sounds great. all in all fish is good for you but like everything else in moderation.
Honey! You really do need to have a well balanced diet that does include red meat, about twice a week. Portions the size of your palm.Or (a very good vitamin, mineral suppliment you'd need a truck load of green veg to suppliment the Iron otherwise.)
However...You asked about FISH.
Yes you can have too much if it's a Deep Sea variety ie;( Shark, Flake), Sword Fish,Perch, etc. Their level of mercury is higher, because mainly they live a lot longer..1 serve of this fish per week, none other but canned fish..
Salmon, Sardines, canned or fresh are very good, and smaller type fish ,Baramundi, whiting , anything that's not cut from a larger fish etc. These you can have 3-4 servings per week.Too much will raise your Mercury too. It's great because very little or no fat in the fillet. It depends what you do with it..Same with crustatians. They are good too, low in fat. etc. only eat when in season ie crabs, oysters or frozen. Preferably eat fresh local produce, if it's the main part of your diet..
Bon Appetite. Ciao
Avoid salt water fish consumption. With it comes higher exposures to mercury, especially in cases where people are consuming more than two meals a week comprised of ocean-caught sporting fish, such as tuna and salmon. The DHA in fish is great for your brain.
yes i think.. because if you eat to much of anything, it isn't good for you.. remember the balance diet....
it depends on where the fish is and what kind it is
tuna has high levels of mercury so it is not good in big lots
and depending on if the lake is polluted
If you are going to eat allot of fish make sure it is caught around where you live and make sure the lake is not bad off
I know of a family who has big problems
when she was pregnant with her last child they thought they were doing something great and they ate fish all most every day now the whole family has heavy metal poisoning all of them has very bad health problems
fish is really good for you but you have to know were it comes from
Eating reef fish can run into problems as well
when the coral dies and most coral is dieing it creates a toxin and it gets into the fish eating that fish if it is not cooked properly can lead to death or other very bad health problems
My dad did that and he loves it, fish has omega-3 oils that are like vitamins for your brain. If you can afford it, I'd definitely recommend it, my dad is very happy he did.
You know you've had too much fish when you start glowing in the dark! Fish contains phosphorus, that's why ... but seriously, England has such good fish that I think I could live on fish and chips alone for some considerable time. Where I live, salmon and trout are inexpensive, and they are good for you too. Then there are small fish, like sardines, they are yummy ... As to eating meat if you don't feel like it ... it can't be good for you.
