Boiled eggs why do we habitually put salt on top ?!

Question:

Boiled eggs why do we habitually put salt on top ?

salt's bad for you

Answers:
Yes we all know that excessive salt is bad for you and most abstain from adding it to our meals. However there are certain foods that it is felt that to enjoy them fully salt needs to be added. Boiled eggs is one, fish and chips another and I personally can't eat raw tomatoes without a bit of salt.,As these are only occasional meals the amount of salt involved is not likely to do much harm. It's not like it's everyday is it.

1) I do it out of taste, not habit
2) Recent studies show salt is much less "bad" for you than previously thought.
3) You need dietary salt to live.

to make them taste nicer. I think seasoning is meant to bring out the flavours existing within the egg?

FOR TASTE , ALONG WITH PEPPER. NOT IF DONE IN MODERATION.

I dont bother - pointless

becuase it tastes better lol dont you think? it tastes much much much nicer if you do but when you dont (or ferget)then you feel like your gunna be sick so il put a star on this questoin good questoin by the way very interesting for egg lovers lol i no i am!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont!

the egg white has no taste

Something has to kill the taste. I don't use salt on anything, but I do use home made salsa, no salt added.

i don't, and never have! i like to dunk my toasty soldiers into the egg completely condiment free!

Boiled eggs taste better with a sprinkle of salt on top.

Soft Boiled eggs with tad of salt and pepper - wonderful. Only for taste - one of my favourites!

For initial flavour.

If you have to use salt, the proper way to do it, is to pour a minute amount of salt on to the plate and just let the tip of the teaspoon, you are using to eat the egg, touch the salt, before inserting it into the egg; this way you are seasoning the piece you are going to eat.

I don't put salt on my boiled eggs, I didn't know that was the norm

I also put pepper on it and it tastes goodddddd
