What's the spiciest/hottest thing you've ever eaten??
Answers:
We were on a cruise and stopped in Cozumel. While there, we met some folks from the ship. When the server brought chips and salsa, I made the mistake of asking for something hotter. The manager brought out 2 habanero peppers, cut them in half, added Tabasco and salt and dared me to eat them. "If I eat this, will you give me a free beer?" "Sure" he said.
Well...I have never been one to pass up a free beer. He went ahead and brought me another, along with a few napkins to wipe up the pools of sweat!
Chinese food,curry style
I ate a whole raw habanero back in culinary school. Stupidstupidstupid!!!
A habanero pepper.

Habernaro Peppers, MUCHO CALIENTE!!!
When I was learning to cook, I saw a recipe for horseradish mashed potatoes. I didn't think it had enough HR. So I put in 4 Tbsp! OMG, I could barely breathe! My stomach was really upset. That taught me a lesson!
Habanero salsa.
This was a mistake: Unfortunately, it was a plate of spaghetti when the lid fell off the shaker of chili flakes, and all the flakes fell into my food.
It made me sick.
Another mistake: I made chiles rellenos with fresh jalapenos, and didn't take ALL the seeds out. We couldn't eat them. (And we Loooove HOT food.)
As far as normal food made hot intentionally, I would have to say that chiles rellenos and indian food are the absolute hottest I have made or eaten.
I used to work at a market that sells Salsas and everyone goes there to get habanero salsa but since I worked there we tried out the product before it actually went on sale we had to try different varieties of habanero sauce to see which one made the cut. some were pretty harmless but there was one that they put Chile de Arbol in with It, and it was the worst I couldn't taste food like for 3 days Belive me that sucked...
Curry-my mom accidently put the whole packet of hot indian curry powder into the stew!
I can't remember what it was, but I think it was some sort of hot salad that was served at the Mata Hari restaurant (East Indian food) in Houston, Tx. I was trying to make a good impression on my boyfriend's Mom. I ate that salad...it had pinenuts and was delicious at first...and then it hit me. I lunged for the iced tea, drained that. Then grabbed for my ice water and drained that. I was sucking ice while tears streamed down my cheeks looking for the waiter to refill either the tea or the water ...anything cold and liquid...when my boyfriend's Mom's salad hit her. She drained her iced tea and water more quickly than I had done. I didn't feel as embarrassed after that. We had two of the clearest sinuses in the city that night!
