What is high fructose corn syrup?!

Question:

What is high fructose corn syrup?

Is it bad for you?

It's in everything.

Answers:
The more general term glucose syrup is often used synonymously with corn syrup, since glucose syrup is most commonly made from corn starch.[3] Technically though, glucose syrup is any liquid starch hydrolysate of mono, di, and higher saccharides[4] and can be made from starch from any source, of which wheat, rice and potatoes are the most common sources.

High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a variant in which other enzymes are used to convert some of the glucose into fructose. The resulting syrup is sweeter and more soluble.
The only time it is "bad" is if you are a diabetic. You should watch how much sugar you consume daily anyways.

yes its fruit sugar and modified sugar

Its sugar made from corn. Its cheaper than real sugar. That's why its in everything.

It is in everything and you should avoid it as much as possible.

your body digests it differently than other natural sugars. its been linked to diabetes and has a lot to do with why so many americans are overweight. that being said, it is very hard to avoid. it is in a ton of processed food.

umm its not made from corn, lol, and its not bad for you. you need some in your body, and its just a type of sugar

High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is made by adding enzymes to corn starch... The enzymes break down the starch molecules into fructose molecules.

Is it bad for you?
It adds calories without providing any nutritional benefit.

It's in everything... because it's cheaper than using "real" sugar.

it is bad for u.it has lots of frutose, dextrose, glucose which is sugar.

high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) refers to a group of corn syrups which have undergone enzymatic processing in order to increase their fructose content & are then mixed with pure corn syrup (100% glucose) to reach their final form. idk if its bad for you though.
