If I wanted to buy fresh thyme from the supermarket, how much would it cost?!

Question:

If I wanted to buy fresh thyme from the supermarket, how much would it cost?

I need one teaspoon for a soup.

Answers:
Most of the stores around me only sell it in the little bubble packs and they run 2.99-3.99 a pack. One pack would definitely be enough for a teaspoon.

Probably about £1 for a small bunch, the supermarkets may not have it, you may need a green grocers

made 3 bucks but just in case bring 2 bucks

If it's something that goes by weight you can buy only what you need. You don't have to buy the whole bush. In our super markets they range from $1.99/pound-$4.99/pound. (we live in upstate NY) Go the least expensive route.
Alton Brown had a show all about this. He bought only a few leaves of cabbage for what he needed instead of the whole head.
If your markets don't sell by weight you can use what you need and wrap the rest in paper towels and seal in a freezer bag in your freezer for up to 2 months.

1:99 ish
