What is this? What will happen if it's consumed?

The small white packets that sometimes come in news bags, or new merchandise, the pack is almost paper thin and says "DO NOT EAT THROW AWAY" on it. What is inside of the little white packets, and what will happen to you if you eat it?

I believe you are talking about the things that are sometimes in shoes. If you eat it, you can get sick to the point where you can die. And inside is something that kills odors.
