Why do toasters always have a setting that burns toast to a horrible crisp?

which no decent human being would eat

All bread does not brown at the same rate.

hahah i KNOW! believe it or not some people really like it, i have no idea why but they do!

I dont know how i always manage to burn my toast that setting is ruining my toast.

well........i have to say when i get i think its orroweat winter something bread it takes way longer to toast...........so some breads kinda dont toast as quick! thats all i can think off

they need low and medium low; mine has slightly burnt and too black to scrape off

The toaster manufacturers like to make life more interesting

Seriously, I know some people who like 'very crispy' toast, and burnt toast is sometimes used in antidotes for poisons
[ don't try it- it doesn't always work ].
