Can I use Feta in place of Parmesan in an Alfredo sauce?!

Question:

Can I use Feta in place of Parmesan in an Alfredo sauce?

I'm making it now, but I'm out of Parmesan cheese. I live 1/2 hour from grocery.

Answers:
It won't be Alfredo sauce... also, I don't think feta melts as easily as Parmesan.

Not that I'm saying it's going to be bad... just different.

Yes, it should be okay. I have never tried it myself, but it sounds like it should work.

I don't think I'd call it "Alredo" or someone may get upset at being hoodwinked. Feta is a pretty strong flavor, but would probably melt in the sauce. GIve it a shot!

Absolutely! In fact it might be even better!

Not only that but once you've discovered how delicious it is, you can claim it as your own original recipe.

no feta is bitter Parmesan is not

Try it, and see what happens! I love feta cheese, and might add it to Alfredo sauce prepared the traditional way. If you are only doing this for yourself/family, it is worth a shot---you might be onto something!! However, if you are having dinner guests, you might want to re-think your menu rather than risk a "flop".

I made something like that one time, it was actually really good. Make garlic bread too, that way people can dip it in their sauce.

Feta's way different than parmesan.

i wouldn't recommend it, Parmesan cheese is used to flavor and thicken the sauce. feta cheese wouldn't thicken it i imagine. but if you do use it right before you talk the sauce off the stove add a few tabs of cold butter this will help to thicken it.

NO!
