Question:

What is the best way to pack cookies and mail them across the u.s. ?

Answers:
Ziploc, maybe a double.
In a box... If you're worried about them breaking wrap packing bubbles.

Pack them in a box, with shipping peanuts and they should be good!

Put the cookies in a Ziplock bag with a piece of bread (to absorb the moisture & prevent them from getting stale--I swear this works). Then put the bag into a Tuperware or other solid, relatively un-crushable container, put that in a box, & mail it.

Probably the most important thing is to store them initially in a big Ziplock storage or freezer bag - not the little sandwich kind. That keeps all the moisture in. After that, they're usually pretty safe is you cushion them with crumpled newspaper (or whatever other packing supplies you've got around).

I send cookies home (across the country too!) all the time, and recieve them too... it always seems to work! Even with sugar cookies and all. Good luck!

Put a nice sized layer of popped, plain popcorn in the bottom of the box you will use to mail the cookies. Stack the cookies in a medium sized stack and wrap in plastic wrap. Lay the rolls (horizontally) on top of the popcorn and put more popcorn between the rolls of cookies. If you are sending more cookies than will fit in one layer, be sure to use a lot of popcorn between layers. Be sure to put more popcorn on top of the cookies to cushion them more.

line a plastic container(square?) with paper towel until its nicely padded, wrap each cookie in a piece of paper towel and put one layer on the bottom of the container, put another couple sheets of paper towl ontop, then repeat untill full (make sure the top and sides are well padded also) if you pack them this way, the cookies should arrive in great shape
