What is the origin of the word bubbler instead of water fountain?!

Question:

What is the origin of the word bubbler instead of water fountain?

Answers:
I know that we Wisconsinites are the founders... They were made by the Kohler company, which now make a lot of toilets. Apparently it was common thought that the way the water arced was bubble like. That is what I understand.

I always thought it was British in origin - based on the bubbling noise especially older style fountans make.

It was the brand name of a drinking fountain made by the Kohler company in Wisconsin.
