They are the same. Cool Whip is just a (Company Trade Mark name) for the Whip Cream.
Basically, most people would like to think that cool whip is fake, and has loads of preservatives. In whipped cream, as long as you buy the real one, it doesn't have many preservatives and it tastes 20 times better. Plus its real.
Whip cream taste is more condensed like sweet vanilla ice cream.
