What do you do when you have a craving? Do you fight it or give in to it?!

Question:

What do you do when you have a craving? Do you fight it or give in to it?

In my case it's chocolate. It's calling out to me, *eat me, eeeeeeat me*. It's sitting right there in the file cabinet. I don't want to get hooked on it again and I had a lot of it and it's not even mine. (it's a HUGE bag) Mom saw me and she took me to Wal*Mart to get my own box and i tried to eat it slowly but it was gone in two days.

HELPPPPPPPP!

You should definitely apply moderation with anything, but it's not a good idea to deny yourself things, especially relatively harmless things like chocolate! It'll just make you a stressed out, bitter, unhappy person. Give in, but don't gorge on it. Have a bit, and then eat some fruit.

Mine is chocolate too. What I do is have Hershey kisses and if I have a craving I have one and one only. Seems to work for me.

fight it!

The only thing I crave is beer. I personally always give in.

Chololate isn't a bad thing. But if you are trying to lose weight or anthing like that, its best to slow down on the chocolate. When you have a craving eat one piece. Don't eat the whole box. Have your mom hold onto the box and whenever you want a piece just tell her. But try not to eat it every other minute. Just eat a piece a day. That way you still get your chocolate but you're not overdoing it.

You can have some chocolate, but just a little but, so then afterwards you won't feel guilty that you ate so much of it.

Fight it, to much of anything is not good. When I crave something bad for me, I always fight it and substitute it. I like to eat a few grapes or cut up an apple.

Honestly, it depends on how stressed out I am that day. I've always been a stress eater, so I'm always fighting not to eat when I shouldn't. I finally got tired of being overweight and I've since lost 30 pounds!! You can't give up everything entirely, because that's where the cravings come in. If you want a piece of chocolate, eat one then put the rest away. It's much easier to put on the weight than lose it and that's what I now tell myself when I want more than what I should have.

Life is too short to be telling yourself that you cannot have the things you want.

I usually give in because I cant get my mind off my cravings. And I'll end up fighting and fighting and then usually give in when its time for bed. I think it's better to eat earlier in the day anyway so yeah. For a chocolate addiction I found the best way to stop it is to go cold shoulder, but find a sweet replacement ( but something a bit healthier ). I used bananas because they're the sweetest fruit and I love them. Good Luck
