What happens to the rest of the orange after my orange juice is squeezed?
does it just get tossed?
It makes me sad, and that's not healthy
Answers:
You can use the skin for decorations, or you need a zester for a little kick.
You can also use the peel for candy. Yes, I did say candy. You can find recipes on the net for that. Just type in "homemade candy peels".
The peel can be used for other things. You will need a zester.
all that is left is the skin and the peal
It is recycled into tires.
eat the peel ,lots of vits!
You can Compost it and continue the cycle of life. Oranges have a high pH level so they help evergreen, firs, hydrangea, Rhododendrons to stay nice & healthy.
If you're asking about more commercial orange juice, it probably used to be trashed or composted. But go down your cleaning aisle at the store and note how much stuff contains "orange oil". Not sure it really cleans better, though it smells better, but it looks like a lot of the rind goes to making that.
Commercially it made into "citrus meal" which is fed to cattle.
u throw it in the trash.
I toss the rest.........if you eat it,make sure you clean it
you should compost it. it makes things grow like trees
