Do pickles help with the digestion process?!

Question:

Do pickles help with the digestion process?

I thought that I had heard this once before and I'm just looking for the answer. Thanks.

Answers:
Certain kinds of pickles can help, particularly if they are fermented and naturally produced. Industrial processes to make pickles quickly and cheaply (often chemically) may not provide benefits.

They may do so, in a second-hand way. Pickles (well, cucumbers) contain some dietary fiber, just as all vegetables and fruits do. Fiber helps to regulate the digestive process.

Also, the savory flavor of pickles will stimulate other digestive processes. Chewing on the pickles will cause you to salivate more, and it will also signal your stomach to produce more digestive enzymes. So, the pickles help the entire affair along.
