2 year old and new eating habits?!
2 year old and new eating habits?
My son (almost 2) seems to be going on a food strike. He has NEVER been a picky eater and usually eats anything I give him. He especially loves chicken breast and green beans.
All of a sudden over the last few weeks he's become SUPER picky and only wants to eat carbs...pancakes or waffles fro breakfast, pasta for dinner, cheeze-it's, rice cakes, animal crakers, grahm crackers...anything carbs. I can still get him to eat fruit, yogurt and cheese, but he won't eat his normal chicken or any veggies.
Any tips? Any ideas how i can get him to eat "regular" foods again? I give him a multi-vitamin everyday, and have started to give him V-Fusion to help get him a LITTLE veggies...
HELP!!?!!

we had this same problem! your son is at the age when he is learning that you and he are not the same person. he is realizing he can control his own environment (probably saying "no!" alot too). it is classic for small children to engage in power struggles with their parents by refusing to eat what or when you want them too. your best bet to avoid extending the problem or, worst case, encouraging an eating disorder, is to just make healthy foods available at regular eating times. let him eat what he wants from the plate (no desert of course) and avoid unhealthy snacks. eventually, he will get back to a more normal eating routine.
ps, watch for other symptoms, just to ensure he doesn't have a flu or other medical condition.
POTATOES!
just to let you know, the person who wrote potatoes is writing "potatoes" everywhere, just to let you know!
