Have i eaten good for someone on a diet?!

Question:

Have i eaten good for someone on a diet?

breakfast: grape nuts cereal w/ water & an apple.

lunch: small turkey wraps, with lettuce & mayo.. and like 2 carrot sticks.

dinner: 2 bowls of honey nut cheerios w/ water & a pear.

will i gain weight from this? is this all good for someone trying to lose or stay the same weight?
i also exercised today; i walked around for like 3 hours before i ate dinner & played tennis.

Answers:
Not enough calories ! You will put your body in the starvation mode, and it will eventually become hard to retain your weight or lose more. Eat at least 1200 calories per day, more if you are a larger person.

You've eaten slightly healthy, what I'd disapprove of is the cereals because they're high in sugar and low in fiber. You should also try to eat more vegetables because they're full of fiber. But don't overdo it. You could eat more if you wanted, having more food in your body keeps your metabolism high.

I would think so Brooke, you are also exercising which will burn off calories.

Wow, you hardly eat anything. Are you a model?

You wont gain necessarily, but that's not a very healthy diet. If you continue to eat like that your going to end up feeling deprived and most likely binging. Plus its an awful lot of carbs, there are naturally a lot of sugars in cheerios. Add more veggis, whole grains, and non-fat or low fat dairy to your diet. Also proteins. Fish or chicken, a serving size is about the palm of your hand. And be careful to measure your food. When you pour cereal into a measuring cup, you might be surprised to see the difference between what seems like a serving size, and what actually is.

You have been pretty good. I would say the cereals are bad though. For breakfast try a homemade protein shake with whey powder. When you eat cereal, your insulin level goes WAY up and you are hungry within the next few hours.
Instead of a wrap, try a salad with turkey or chicken in it. Way healthier.
For dinner try a grilled meat or a veggie stirfry.
You probably won't gain weight, but try to cut back on the carbs and sugars!

Nah you wont gain wait but you dont need to eat things like a bowl of cheerios for dinner
its just as healthy to have a bowl of chicken stir fry or lean beef stir fry with rice and salad.
There are heaps of stuff you can have that wont make you put on weight.
grilled chicken
grilled fish
veggies
salad
soup
small slice of quiche
small bowl of pasta
risotto
veggie pizza
its always good to get as much exercise as possible as well..
Another thing that i do is drink alot of tea during the day coz it fills you up and you dont feel like eating.

Young lady, you need more protein if you are exercising. It sounds to me like you are not getting near the amount of calories in your diet to sustain health. You will loose more weight if you eat a high protein diet with the fruit and veggies. Also multiple smaller meals, The sugar in the honey nuts is gonna secretly haunt your diet efforts. I suggest:

Breakfast: 2 or 3 egg whites with fruit
late morning snack: low fat yogurt or nonfat cottage cheese
lunch: the turkey wrap --no mayo---if you must use a condiment >>MUSTARD HAS NO FAT.
late afternoon snack: Fruit and/or veggies
Dinner: chicken/fish grilled with veggies

Sounds good to me!
