Question:

What do oysters eat? I like, my wife will not eat even one!?

Answers:
they are filters. they eat whatever is floating in the water. so if she think they are S#i* eaters she is kinda right. they are still good though.

Shellfish (clams, oysters, scallops, etc.) are filter feeders, which means they extrude a gill-like net which waves in the water current and collects small organisms such as zoo- and phytoplankton. The membrane is then retracted, and the mouth organ eats the collected goodies.

They have a special filtering system in them and so filter the water they are in.

i don't blame her....they look slimey and gross!

They filter fine nutrients out of the water, and that part is often discarded and the gut is what is savoured.
If that has put off further I can elaborate. lol
