Question about mangoes?!

Question:

Question about mangoes?

I have seen mangoes in the produce department, what do they taste like and how do I know if they are ripe?

Answers:
They are lovely. The taste of the fruit is very sweet, with some cultivars having a slight acidic tang; it tastes roughly like a cross between a peach and a pineapple. The texture of the flesh varies markedly between different cultivars; some have quite a soft and pulpy texture similar to an over-ripe plum, while others have a firmer flesh much like that of a cantaloupe or avocado, and in some cultivars the flesh can contain fibrous material. Mangoes are very juicy; the sweet taste and high water content make them refreshing to eat, though somewhat messy.
You can cut them along each side of the oval pit and then cut them ( not breaking the skin) again three times lengthwise and three times widthwise, a slight lift and you have perfect cubes, for a fruit sallad or a snack. I wrap the leftover seed for messy eating or give to my daughter.

Pick the yellowest one. They are very sweet.

its hard to describe what a mango tastes like....but they sure are delicious when ripe.

the best ones are yellow with hints of red. they should be soft to the touch but not mushy. avoid ones that are green unless youre going to let them sit for a while before you eat them.

to eat, peel off the skin and slice the flesh around the pit. enjoy!

the taste of a mango is like a slighly more pungant peach you will have to taste it to know what im talking about, but i am sure you will like

happy eating

mANGOS ARE SWEET AND KIND OF FURRY INSIDE, NOT QUITE BUT IT WON'T HURT TO TRY THEM. tHE MORE YELLOW THEY ARE THE SWEETER. TRY THEM

mangoes are sweet and they are ripe when they are not green. they should be yellow and somewhat soft but not mushy
